Emptying the Fridge

It is hot and humid here in London Ontario Canada.  I really didn't feel like turning on
the oven so I found a steak in the freezer.  I added a few Asian spices, and threw
it on the BBQ.
Everything else was from the fridge.  Sour cream with a little lime juice added,
lettuce leaves chopped up with a somewhat less than fresh yellow pepper. Which I just sliced.
Chopped tomatoe, and I also had a bit of pineapple left over and half a jalapeƱo.
I made a pineapple salsa added a little cilantro.

It was DEE-LICIOUS!!!

Amazing what you can throw together if you look deep into your fridge!!

Fun mini album***

I made a fun little mini album the other day!  Now I will be the first to admit that
I am HORRIBLE at keeping track of who originally made these albums and
of what paper collections I used.

All I know is that I had fun making this one, it didn't take hours to make... maybe one
hour in total and that it will be finding a new home for someone's birthday!!

Oh my deer***

My husband was golfing the other day and came upon a Momma and her
babe!! Not very shy these gals!!

Just a little bit of sweet stuff***

Over the weekend, my godson Rob and his girlfriend Stace joined us for lunch before he heads off
to Winnipeg, Canada to continue his work with the Canadian Air Force.
We had a lovely lunch of stuffed chicken breast, rice pilaf and Greek Salad.

I made the rustic berry tart pictured above for dessert!  Served with
a bit of sweetened whipped cream.  It was lovely!
The chocolate chip cookies were made over the weekend too
to share with my kids and for my husband's occasional sweet tooth.

Last night good friends from our old neighbourhood joined us for drinks
and a few appetizers.

I made crostini with whipped feta and fresh market tomatoes.
My daughter in law Alix first made this a while back and I just love
it!  It is from one of Ina Garten's cookbooks.
Also made BBQ'ed pork satays and peanut sauce and
roasted shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce.
Cheryl and Peter brought a yummy artichoke and cheese dip!

Nice to catch up with good friends.

New Blog...New Start...

Hello!!

For those of you who followed 2BKrafty I am here again under
a new name!
Stories from the Orchard
will still be about crafting and cooking
and wool projects and punch needle
and family stuff!

All the things that I love to do and people
I love to be with!!

Our younger son Tyler married his true love Alix two years ago
and our older son Landon married his best friend Britt just three weeks ago.

We have two wonderful sons and now we have two beautiful daughters.

I am excited to get back into the blogging world and to
my wonderful world of crafting and cooking.

I have been doing both but have not had the time, energy, or inclination
to post... Plus I lost my little camera that I always used, bought a new one
and am just figuring out how to use it with my computer.

People have asked me how it feels to have both my children married.
It feels wonderful and calming.
Both my boys have been out of the house for quite some
time so we are used to them not being here.

And to know that both boys are as happy as they are
makes our hearts happy too!
